CNG Operator – Lagos & Ogun

About the role

The CNG Operator will manage the safe compression, storage and dispensing of compressed natural gas at two stations in Lagos and Ogun. You will ensure continuous operation while adhering to strict health, safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor CNG compressors, dispensers and storage systems.
• Conduct routine inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
• Report faults promptly and collaborate with maintenance teams to minimise downtime.
• Load, unload and dispense CNG safely according to company procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of gas volumes, equipment performance and daily activities.
• Monitor pressure, temperature and other parameters to prevent system failures.
• Follow HSE policies, emergency procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Respond to emergencies, equipment malfunctions or gas leaks.
• Keep the CNG station clean and orderly.

Required profile

• HND or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Previous experience in CNG operations, gas processing, oil & gas or industrial plant operations is an advantage.
• Ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as needed.

Required skills

• Knowledge of CNG systems, compressors and pumps.
• Basic mechanical troubleshooting.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Strong attention to safety procedures.
