Printing Ink Production Lead (Flexible Packaging)

About the role

A leading flexible packaging manufacturer in Ota Industrial Estate, Ogun State, is looking for an experienced Ink Production Supervisor to oversee ink production operations. The role ensures consistent quality, efficiency and timely delivery of production requirements, covering ink formulation, colour matching, production planning and quality control.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily ink production and ensure production targets are met.
• Supervise ink formulation, mixing, blending and colour matching.
• Ensure ink quality, consistency and compatibility with printing materials and machines.
• Monitor raw materials, inventory and ink usage to minimise waste.
• Develop production schedules and conduct quality checks and troubleshooting.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures for inks, solvents and chemicals.
• Supervise, train and evaluate production staff; maintain production records, quality reports and inventory documentation.
• Coordinate with printing, quality control, procurement and other production teams.
• Maintain equipment and enforce workplace safety and environmental regulations.

Required profile

• HND or B.Sc. in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science or a related field.
• 5-7 years' experience in ink production, preferably in flexible packaging, printing or a related manufacturing environment.
• Experience supervising production teams and managing production targets.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

• Ink formulation, colour matching, viscosity control and quality testing.
• Solvent-based inks and flexible packaging printing (advantage).
• Production planning, inventory management and quality assurance.
• Microsoft Office and production documentation.
• Chemical handling, workplace safety and environmental compliance.
