About the role
The Cloud Network and Infrastructure Engineer will design, implement, secure and optimise the hybrid infrastructure spanning Amazon Web Services (AWS) and on‑premises environments for a fast‑growing financial services company in Nigeria.
Key responsibilities
- Design, deploy and support AWS cloud services including compute, networking, storage, identity, monitoring, backup and security.
- Manage on‑premises Windows and Linux servers, virtualization platforms, storage, firewalls, switches, wireless infrastructure and data‑center equipment.
- Configure and maintain secure hybrid connectivity using VPN, AWS Direct Connect, routing, DNS, load balancing and network segmentation.
- Monitor performance, availability, capacity and security with appropriate tools and handle incident response and root‑cause analysis.
- Implement infrastructure security controls such as IAM, access management, patch management, vulnerability remediation, encryption, logging and firewall administration.
- Develop and maintain backup, disaster‑recovery, high‑availability and business‑continuity solutions.
- Automate provisioning and operational tasks using scripting and Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) tools.
- Maintain documentation, architecture diagrams, asset inventories and operational procedures.
- Participate in change, problem and incident management, audit activities and compliance remediation.
- Optimise cloud costs through resource utilisation reviews and capacity planning.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience with cloud infrastructure, enterprise networking and systems administration in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong understanding of security best practices for hybrid cloud environments.
Required skills
- AWS cloud services (compute, networking, storage, IAM, monitoring, backup, security).
- Windows Server and Linux administration.
- Virtualisation platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V).
- Network hardware – firewalls, switches, wireless infrastructure.
- VPN, AWS Direct Connect, routing, DNS, load balancing and network segmentation.
- Monitoring and alerting tools.
- Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and scripting languages.
- Patch management, vulnerability remediation, encryption and logging.
