Cloud Network and Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

The Cloud Network and Infrastructure Engineer will design, implement, secure and optimise the hybrid infrastructure spanning Amazon Web Services (AWS) and on‑premises environments for a fast‑growing financial services company in Nigeria.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and support AWS cloud services including compute, networking, storage, identity, monitoring, backup and security.
• Manage on‑premises Windows and Linux servers, virtualization platforms, storage, firewalls, switches, wireless infrastructure and data‑center equipment.
• Configure and maintain secure hybrid connectivity using VPN, AWS Direct Connect, routing, DNS, load balancing and network segmentation.
• Monitor performance, availability, capacity and security with appropriate tools and handle incident response and root‑cause analysis.
• Implement infrastructure security controls such as IAM, access management, patch management, vulnerability remediation, encryption, logging and firewall administration.
• Develop and maintain backup, disaster‑recovery, high‑availability and business‑continuity solutions.
• Automate provisioning and operational tasks using scripting and Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) tools.
• Maintain documentation, architecture diagrams, asset inventories and operational procedures.
• Participate in change, problem and incident management, audit activities and compliance remediation.
• Optimise cloud costs through resource utilisation reviews and capacity planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience with cloud infrastructure, enterprise networking and systems administration in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong understanding of security best practices for hybrid cloud environments.

Required skills

• Network hardware – firewalls, switches, wireless infrastructure.

• Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and scripting languages.
• Patch management, vulnerability remediation, encryption and logging.
