Chief Investment Officer

About the role

Rigo is looking for a senior leader to shape and execute its investment strategy across multiple asset classes. The Chief Investment Officer will be responsible for building a high‑performing portfolio that aligns with the group’s risk‑return objectives and regulatory framework.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement Rigo Capital’s investment strategy, policy framework, and capital allocation approach.
• Identify, evaluate, and execute investment opportunities across relevant asset classes.
• Build and manage the investment portfolio, balancing risk and return in line with group objectives.
• Conduct market research, financial analysis, and due diligence on potential investments.
• Establish and maintain relationships with fund managers, financial institutions, and investment partners.
• Monitor portfolio performance and ensure compliance with Nigerian financial regulations and governance standards.
• Advise the board on market trends, emerging opportunities, and strategic financial decisions.
• Develop risk‑management frameworks to protect group assets and ensure long‑term sustainability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related field; Master’s degree is an advantage.
• Professional certification such as CFA, ICAN or ACCA.
• 8–12 years of experience in investment management, asset management, portfolio analysis or related financial services role.
• Strong understanding of capital markets, investment vehicles and financial instruments.
• Solid knowledge of Nigerian financial regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical, communication and decision‑making abilities.
• Ability to work independently and build systems with minimal precedent.
