Chief Financial Officer

About the role

The Chief Financial Officer will join a recently acquired micro‑finance bank that is evolving into a digital wealth‑management platform. Reporting to the MD/CEO and working closely with the Board, the CFO will drive both financial stewardship and the bank’s digital transformation agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of a 5‑year strategic plan focused on digital products, channels and operations.
• Drive digital transformation initiatives such as digital lending, mobile banking, agent banking and fintech partnerships.
• Identify new business opportunities, market segments and strategic partnerships for scalable growth.
• Champion a data‑driven culture using analytics and MIS to shape strategy, pricing, risk appetite and product design.
• Advise the MD/CEO and Board on emerging trends in digital finance, micro‑finance and regulatory developments.
• Develop and implement the bank’s financial strategy in line with CBN requirements.
• Oversee annual budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning and timely IFRS‑compliant financial reporting.
• Monitor P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, capital adequacy, liquidity and profitability, recommending corrective actions.
• Manage cost efficiency and evaluate financial impact of digital initiatives.
• Direct treasury functions, including liquidity management, asset‑liability management and funding strategy.
• Lead capital planning to meet CBN MFB capital requirements and support the transition to a national licence.

Required profile

• Executive‑level experience with at least 10 years (120 months) in finance, preferably within banking or micro‑finance.
• Proven track record in strategic planning, digital transformation and regulatory compliance.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actionable strategy.
