Cashier – Retail & Finance

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Cashier to join our retail team in Abeokuta. The role involves handling customer payments, maintaining accurate cash records, and providing excellent service in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process customer payments via cash, POS terminals, bank transfers and other approved methods.
• Issue receipts, invoices and proof of payment for all transactions.
• Balance the cash register at the start and end of each shift and reconcile daily sales.
• Handle customer inquiries, complaints and payment‑related issues professionally.
• Maintain accurate daily transaction records and prepare end‑of‑day cash reports.
• Securely handle cash, vouchers and other payment instruments.
• Assist customers with product information, pricing and promotions.
• Report discrepancies, shortages or suspicious transactions promptly.
• Keep the checkout area clean, organized and professional.
• Collaborate with sales and inventory teams to ensure smooth transaction processing.
• Follow company cash‑handling procedures, financial controls and security policies.
• Support additional administrative or retail duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum OND, HND or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Cashier, Retail Assistant or Customer Service Representative.
• Basic knowledge of cash handling and financial transactions.
• Strong numerical, organizational and record‑keeping abilities.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• High level of honesty, integrity and attention to detail.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
