Cashier (Bakery)

About the role

We are looking for a friendly and reliable Cashier to join our bakery team in Port Harcourt. The role involves handling customer transactions, providing excellent service, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly, answer enquiries and recommend bakery products.
• Process cash, POS, bank transfers and other approved payment methods accurately, issue receipts and balance the cash drawer each shift.
• Prepare end‑of‑day sales reports and reconcile POS, cash and transfer payments.
• Maintain cleanliness of the cashier counter and adhere to food‑safety and hygiene standards.
• Record daily sales summaries, assist with stock‑taking and support order bookings and delivery documentation.
• Safeguard cash and company assets, verify suspicious transactions and ensure only authorized personnel access the register.

Required profile

• Minimum SSCE qualification.
• 1–3 years experience as a cashier, preferably in a bakery, supermarket or retail outlet.
• Ability to work weekends, public holidays and shift patterns.
• Strong numerical ability, honesty, integrity and good communication skills.

Required skills

• POS system operation.
• Basic computer literacy.

What we offer

• Monthly salary between NGN 80,000 and NGN 100,000.
