Business Manager – Credit & Risk

About the role

The Business Manager – Credit & Risk will support the Head of CIB Credit and the broader credit team in delivering robust financial management, risk governance and regulatory reporting. This role ensures that credit documentation, committee processes and risk forums operate efficiently and meet audit standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage financial control, budgeting, reconciliation and MIS for the credit function.
• Lead ad‑hoc and strategic projects and act as secretariat for Credit Committee meetings.
• Coordinate and govern Credit and Risk forums (CORF, Local Credit Committees), ensuring proper planning, documentation and compliance.
• Oversee end‑to‑end credit documentation, guaranteeing completeness, accuracy and audit‑readiness.
• Prepare, quality‑check and submit management and regulatory reports (MANCO, KRI, attestation) with high data integrity.
• Handle information requests for regulatory examinations and auditor reviews.
• Provide operational and administrative support to the Office of the Head of Credit.
• Collaborate with internal CIB Coverage, Product teams and Stanbic IBTC’s Company secretariat.

Required profile

• BSc in Statistics, Mathematics or a related field; Master’s or ACA/ACCA qualification is a plus.
• Minimum two years of experience in a banking environment with knowledge of banking products, systems and relevant regulations.
• Strong behavioural competencies such as practical problem‑solving, attention to detail and adherence to procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PowerBI.
• Knowledge of credit procedures, policies and financial markets.
