Business Development Specialist

About the role

VisionSpring is seeking a Business Development Specialist to expand the reach of affordable eyeglasses across Nigeria. Based in Abuja, you will work directly with hospitals, clinics and other healthcare providers while also building a network of channel partners that serve low‑income communities.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new customer relationships with hospitals, eye hospitals, clinics and other healthcare providers.
• Grow and manage a network of channel partners to uncover untapped demand for eyeglasses in various market sectors.
• Foster and manage assigned accounts, driving sales across multiple optical product categories (reading glasses, frames, sunglasses, etc.).
• Execute all aspects of the sales process, from prospecting to closing and post‑sale follow‑up.
• Negotiate win‑win deals with partners and ensure long‑term collaboration.

Required profile

• Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for socially oriented business.
• Proven top‑performer in high‑growth, target‑driven environments.
• Self‑motivated and able to deliver results with minimal supervision.
• Strong B2B and institutional sales experience, especially in wholesale distribution.
• Strategic thinker who actively networks, researches new partners and creates innovative market approaches.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, comfortable engaging senior stakeholders.
