Business Development Manager

About the role

VisionSpring is seeking a Business Development Manager for Nigeria to lead fundraising and partnership efforts with corporations, governments, and philanthropic investors. Based in Lagos, you will work closely with the Country Manager and cross‑regional teams to secure capital that supports both earned revenue and program expansion across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, cultivate, and close strategic partnerships with Nigerian corporations, government agencies, foundations, and individual donors.
• Develop and manage complex grant proposals and corporate partnership agreements.
• Support global fundraising initiatives targeting donors in the Global North that fund African programs.
• Collaborate with program teams in all VisionSpring African countries and with business development teams in the U.S. and Asia.
• Track fundraising targets, report progress, and ensure compliance with donor requirements.

Required profile

• Passion for generating funds for social impact missions.
• Strong project‑management skills and experience handling large, programmatically complex proposals.
• Curiosity about social enterprise models and field operations.
• Excellent relationship‑building abilities with funders, treating them as strategic partners.
• High integrity, self‑motivation, and a track record of exceeding fundraising goals.
