About the role

Our client, a leading Nigerian bank, is seeking a Business Development Manager for Emerging Corporate Banking. The role focuses on building a portfolio of high‑growth corporate clients, delivering tailored financial solutions and driving sustainable revenue while maintaining strong credit quality.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the emerging corporate banking strategy aligned with the bank’s objectives.
• Identify, acquire and grow relationships with emerging corporate customers across key sectors.
• Expand assets, liabilities, trade finance, treasury, transaction banking and fee‑based income through cross‑selling.
• Maintain a robust pipeline of prospects and manage conversion opportunities.
• Serve as primary relationship manager, engaging senior executives and ensuring exceptional client experience.
• Originate, structure and negotiate lending transactions while managing credit risk and asset quality.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to deliver integrated solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in corporate banking or financial services.
• Strong commercial mindset with proven business development track record.
• Deep credit analysis expertise and ability to manage risk.
• Excellent relationship‑building skills with senior decision‑makers.
