Brewing Area Manager

About the role

The Brewing Area Manager leads and manages area teams to deliver operational and technical excellence in the brewing department, ensuring production targets, quality standards and cost controls are met.

Key responsibilities

• Promote beer brewing quality excellence across the value chain and communicate process standards.
• Lead problem‑solving sessions, audit area standards and support implementation of optimisation projects (CAP, VA, CAPEX).
• Manage health, safety, risk, productivity, fixed and variable costs, and waste minimisation.
• Ensure conformance to production plans, specifications, maintenance integrity and environmental standards.

Required profile

• BSc in Biological Sciences, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering and completed brewing traineeship.
• At least 2 years of production experience, including 1 year in a brewing management role.
• Demonstrated commercial decision‑making experience in a brewery (financial, operational, people).
• Master Brewer IBD qualification (studying towards MB qualification).

Required skills

• IBD Papers 1, 2 & 3 completed.
• Technical expertise in brewing processes and VPO pillars.
• Familiarity with MES, PTS, eQMS and PaQT systems.
