Bank Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Bank Accountant to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will manage daily banking transactions, perform accurate bank reconciliations, and support loan and foreign‑exchange activities while ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Review and record daily banking transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and journal entries.
• Perform timely and accurate bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Monitor bank charges, commissions, and interest against contractual terms.
• Prepare documentation for bank credit facilities such as loans, letters of credit, and guarantees, and follow up on approvals.
• Track long‑term loan balances, repayment schedules, accrued interest, and post related accounting entries.
• Initiate and register electronic Form M for import transactions on the Nigeria Single Window Trade Portal.
• Revalue foreign‑currency AP and AR balances at month‑end and calculate unrealised FX gains/losses.
• Support month‑end closing activities and ensure compliance with banking regulations and internal controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in FMCG, manufacturing, or a similar environment.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and bank reconciliation processes.
• Experience with loans, foreign‑exchange transactions, and banking operations is an advantage.
• High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced setting.
