Account Officer

About the role

The Account Officer will manage the financial records of Zeem Global Publications Limited, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all publishing activities. This full‑time position involves handling transactions, reconciling accounts, and supporting audit processes.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, including sales, purchases, expenses, receipts and payments.
• Prepare and maintain ledgers, journals, cashbooks and supporting documents.
• Reconcile bank accounts, sales reports and royalty statements regularly.
• Calculate and process author royalties, advance repayments and payment schedules.
• Verify and process invoices from printers, suppliers, distributors and freelancers.
• Issue invoices to customers, distributors, schools, bookstores and corporate clients.
• Prepare receivables ageing reports and monitor outstanding customer balances.
• Support internal and external auditors by providing required schedules and documentation.

Required profile

• HND in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance or a related role.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
