Automation Manager

About the role

The Automation Manager will lead automation and instrumentation activities across our cement production facilities. This senior position is responsible for ensuring reliable, safe, and efficient operation of all control systems while driving continuous improvement and innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform checks and maintenance on Siemens automation panels, UPS systems, and related PCS equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve automation and PLC related issues to minimise downtime.
• Manage inventory of automation spares, prepare purchase requisitions and follow‑up.
• Maintain up‑to‑date drawings, manuals, bypass registers and housekeeping of all PLC, CCR, plant guide, gypsum and crusher cabinets.
• Record and analyse stoppage and breakdown events linked to automation.
• Maintain plant communication networks, including fiber‑optic termination and testing.
• Configure new operator station PCs and oversee QCX automation equipment.
• Provide maintenance for Gamma Matrix (CBX), PXP, field and Robo‑Lab automation systems, and ARL X‑Ray machines.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth plant operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 18 years of automation and instrumentation experience in an industrial setting, with at least 9 years in a modern cement plant.
• Proven track record designing, implementing and maintaining complex automation systems.
• Strong leadership, team management and communication abilities.
• Analytical mindset with the capacity to work under pressure.
