Audit & Internal Control Officer

About the role

CredPal, a financial technology company offering credit cards and investment solutions, is looking for a detail-oriented Audit and Internal Control Officer. The role ensures compliance, mitigates risks and strengthens internal controls across the organisation through audits of financial transactions, operational processes and compliance frameworks. It is a full-time, mid-level position with hybrid work options.

Key responsibilities

• Design and run audit programmes covering financial and operational processes, and conduct risk assessments with mitigation recommendations.
• Monitor compliance and internal controls across operations, financial transactions and processes.
• Review accounting records, expense reports, revenue streams and cash flow to spot inconsistencies, fraud or misstatements.
• Perform operational audits and investigate fraud or irregularities, reporting findings with corrective action plans.
• Develop internal policies, procedures and controls, and prepare audit reports and recommendations for senior management.
• Run training on internal controls, risk management, fraud prevention and compliance, and support external auditors and regulators.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in audit, risk management or internal control, preferably in a fintech or high-growth financial services company.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting standards, internal audit frameworks and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Suite, audit software and financial analysis tools.
• Analytical, problem-solving and communication skills; strong ethics and confidentiality.
