Assistant Nurse – School Health Support

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Nurse to join our school health team in Lagos. You will work closely with the Senior Nurse and Physician to ensure the wellbeing of students through direct care, health education, and emergency response.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first aid, basic nursing care, and initial assessment for sick or injured students.
• Assist the Senior Nurse and Physician in managing student health cases and referrals.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments while maintaining accurate health records.
• Deliver health education talks on preventive topics to students.
• Support health screenings, immunisation programmes, and field‑based health projects.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies and contribute to overall student safety.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid practising licence.
• Minimum of one year post‑qualification clinical experience.
• Preferably experience as a school nurse.
• Strong clinical judgement and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with adolescents, school staff, parents and other healthcare professionals.
• Willingness to participate in school and field‑based health activities.
