Assistant Manager – IR/HR

About the role

The Assistant IR/HR Manager supports all people‑related activities for the plant, combining operational and strategic HR functions. The role works closely with the Plant HR Business Partner and the Head of HR Industrial to ensure effective employee and industrial relations.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation of the annual HR agenda and recruitment of non‑cadre staff.
• Maintain accurate personnel administration and ensure legal compliance for contracts and social statements.
• Assist with employee and industrial relations, monitor workplace climate and support union negotiations.
• Coach supervisors on performance management and people plans.
• Produce HR data reports and analyses for routine and ad‑hoc needs.
• Manage interfaces with statutory bodies and trade associations as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant HR Business Partner or generalist experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences or related field; HR certification (CIPM, SHRM) preferred.
• Excellent influencing, coaching and problem‑solving skills.
• Project management capability and flexibility to adapt to change.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of HR policies, employee relations and industrial relations practices.
• Experience with HR systems improvement and data reporting.
