Assistant Financial Analyst

About the role

Ascentech is seeking an Assistant Financial Analyst to support the finance team in preparing monthly and quarterly reports, budgets, forecasts and financial analysis. The role will work closely with Finance, Accounting and Operations to ensure accurate and timely financial information.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports, budgets and forecasts.
• Analyse financial data, trends and variances to identify opportunities and risks.
• Support the development and maintenance of financial models and management reports.
• Monitor departmental expenses and ensure compliance with approved budgets.
• Perform financial reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with cash‑flow monitoring and expense analysis.
• Gather, validate and analyse financial and operational data from various departments.
• Prepare presentations, dashboards and reports for management review.
• Conduct market, industry and competitor research to aid business planning.
• Collaborate with Finance, Accounting and Operations teams to obtain and validate financial information.

Required profile

• HND in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, accounting or a related role.

• Microsoft Excel – formulas and data analysis.
• Microsoft Excel – PivotTables and reporting.
