About the role
Ayoola Foods, a leading FMCG producer of Poundo Yam, Plantain Flour and other flour products, is seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to lead its sales activities in the South East region of Nigeria. The role is based in Onitsha and focuses on driving growth, managing a sales team, and expanding the company’s market presence.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate all sales activities across the South East territory and achieve sales growth targets.
- Coach, monitor, and support sales representatives to improve performance.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, emerging markets, and competitive dynamics.
- Develop and present sales strategies and promotional plans, including trade shows and event marketing.
- Create and enforce a route plan, ensuring the marketing team follows it strictly.
- Generate leads, build a strategic business plan, and expand the customer base.
- Maintain strong, long‑lasting customer relationships by understanding client needs.
- Prepare sales, revenue, expense reports and realistic forecasts for management.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years of sales experience in the food or beverage industry.
- Demonstrated success in managing sales teams and achieving targets.
- Deep familiarity with business trends in the South East region of Nigeria.
- Residency in Onitsha or willingness to relocate there.
