Architect – Design Management (Mid‑Level)

About the role

CDL is seeking a mid‑level Architect to lead the design programme from concept through to technical design issuance. You will coordinate multidisciplinary consultants and ensure design deliverables align with construction schedules on a high‑profile real‑estate project in Marina, Lagos.

Key responsibilities

• Own and manage the design programme from concept stage to technical design issue for all packages.
• Coordinate design consultants including architects, structural and landscape engineers, fire engineers and specialists.
• Control the design package release schedule and enforce design freeze, handling post‑freeze changes via formal change orders.
• Review and comment on design packages, identify coordination errors and resolve them before site delivery.
• Maintain the master drawing register, issue drawings to site, and track transmission receipts.
• Log, track and chase Requests for Information and Architect’s Instructions, ensuring timely responses and site implementation.
• Interface with Construction Manager and Site Engineers on buildability and emerging design queries.
• Manage shop drawing and product sample review and approval processes.
• Ensure all design teams use agreed tools such as AutoCAD, Revit/BIM and document control platforms.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related built‑environment discipline.
• Registration with the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA) strongly preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of professional experience, including at least 2 years in design management or construction projects.
• Strong understanding of architectural and structural design processes, drawing standards and coordination requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (essential).
• Experience with Revit or equivalent BIM software.
• Familiarity with document management platforms such as Procore or Aconex.
