Application Engineer – Power Systems

About the role

The Application Engineer will drive the technical development, promotion and implementation of Caterpillar Power Systems solutions. You will work closely with sales teams and high‑value project stakeholders to position our power products as a complete, value‑adding package.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate and support Power Systems product sales for large projects, highlighting technical capabilities.
• Provide technical advice on load assessment, forecasting, site surveys, genset sizing and power distribution design.
• Prepare and submit detailed technical quotations and supervise installations to meet international standards.
• Coordinate with field service representatives to initiate and manage contract service maintenance agreements.
• Act as a centre of excellence, delivering technical inputs that help achieve regional sales targets.
• Maintain relationships with managing directors, chief engineers, project managers and design consultants.

Required profile

• B.Sc/B.Eng or HND in Electronics/Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum three years of relevant experience in power systems or related technical sales.
• Proven ability to work with senior technical and commercial stakeholders.

Required skills

• Power Systems technical knowledge.
• Genset sizing and selection.
• Power distribution system design.
• Technical quotation preparation.
• Installation supervision to international standards.
