Apparel Technical Designer / Pattern Maker

About the role

We are looking for an Apparel Technical Designer/Pattern Maker to join our garment production factory in Lekki, Lagos. The role provides technical design and pattern‑making support for existing product lines and customer‑driven customization requests.

Key responsibilities

• Provide ongoing technical design and pattern‑making support to the manufacturing floor.
• Create and modify pattern models to meet garment specifications and develop tech packs.
• Update work instructions and collaborate with manufacturing to document best practices.
• Investigate components, recommend improvements in specifications, patterns, and construction methods.
• Meet with product designers to discuss base designs and interpret blueprints.
• Draft rough templates using computer‑aided design software and free‑hand techniques.
• Measure, cut, and verify pattern dimensions before sending them for manufacturing checks.
• Review final patterns with production officers and designers.

Required profile

• Secondary School Certificate, HND, OND or Bachelor’s degree.
• Knowledge of garment construction standards and manufacturing methods.
• Ability to generate and understand tech packs.
• Effective verbal and written technical communication.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Illustrator.
• Experience in apparel grading, grade‑rule development, and ergonomic design.
• Previous pattern‑making experience and ability to read blueprints.
• Detail‑oriented, deadline‑driven, physically fit for long periods of standing.
