Admissions Advisor

About the role

Astra Prospects is hiring a full-time Admissions Advisor based in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The role advises prospective students on study destinations, courses and entry requirements, prepares their applications and visa documents, and works with the marketing and operations teams to meet recruitment targets.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to prospective students by phone, WhatsApp, email and in person, advising them on study destinations, courses, entry requirements, intake timelines and funding options, including the student-loan pathway where relevant.
• Prepare and review application and visa documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Track each student's progress and log daily activity on the internal staff platform.
• Follow up consistently with leads, including webinar registrants and students preparing for future intakes.
• Appear on camera in short-form videos, ads, webinars and podcasts, working with the marketing team on scripts and shoots.
• Support info sessions, outreach events and webinars as needed.
• Work with operations and marketing to meet recruitment targets.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience in student recruitment, study-abroad advisory, travel consulting or education services.
• Comfortable and confident on camera.
• Excellent spoken and written English, with a warm, professional manner toward students and parents.
• Organised and detail-oriented, with a record of following through on leads.
• Driven by targets and able to manage several students at once.
• Able to work on-site in Port Harcourt.
• Desirable: knowledge of the Nigerian study-abroad market and common destinations (UK, Canada, US, Europe); familiarity with student-loan or education-financing processes; experience creating or appearing in social media content.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Google Workspace and WhatsApp Business, and comfort learning new internal tools.
