Adhoc Health Facility Assessment Staff (Part‑Time)

About the role

Jhpiego, in partnership with UNICEF, is seeking part‑time adhoc staff to conduct a comprehensive baseline Health Facility Assessment (HFA) across 119 primary health care centres, general hospitals and a medical centre in Kebbi State, Nigeria. The role supports the project “Strengthening RMNCAH+N Quality of Care in Primary Health Care Facilities of Kebbi State” by providing critical data on facility readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct on‑site assessments of 108 PHC centres, 10 general hospitals and Kalgo Medical Centre using the project’s HFA tools.
• Collect and verify data on infrastructure, human resources, essential medicines, equipment functionality, IPC, WASH, laboratory capacity, blood transfusion services, emergency care, referral systems, MPDSR implementation, QI structures, adolescent‑friendly services, nutrition services, HMIS and digital readiness.
• Identify priority gaps and document findings in standardized assessment reports.
• Collaborate with the project team to ensure data quality and timely submission of baseline information.
• Provide recommendations for interventions to improve RMNCAH+N service delivery.

Required profile

• Mid‑level qualification in public health, nursing, medicine or a related health field.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in health facility assessments, health systems strengthening or similar public‑health activities.
• Familiarity with RMNCAH+N services and maternal‑newborn health indicators.
• Ability to travel to multiple facilities across Kebbi State and work independently.
• Strong analytical, reporting and communication skills.
