Accounts Receivable Officer – HMO Billing

About the role
The Accounts Receivable Officer will manage the HMO billing and collections function for a healthcare diagnostics provider in Lagos. You will ensure accurate invoicing, timely claim submissions and effective cash‑flow management.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, review and process invoices for HMO and corporate clients within approved timelines.
- Submit claims to HMOs, insurance providers and corporate organisations with complete documentation.
- Post customer and HMO payments accurately in the accounting system.
- Monitor outstanding invoices and claims, follow up overdue accounts and implement collection strategies.
- Investigate and resolve rejected, disputed or under‑paid claims and liaise with HMOs on authorisation and tariff issues.
- Reconcile HMO statements with internal billing records and generate ageing reports.
- Prepare regular reports on receivables, collections performance and payment trends.
- Support internal and external audits and maintain confidentiality of patient and financial data.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
- Minimum two years of experience in accounts receivable, billing or claims management, preferably in healthcare.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
