Accounts Officer

About the role

A mission-driven organisation working in education and community development is hiring a meticulous, well-organised Accounts Officer for its finance function in Ibadan, Oyo State. The role keeps the numbers honest, tracks income and spend, keeps budgets on course and ensures every naira is properly documented.

Key responsibilities

• Keep financial records current and accurate across all income and expenditure
• Process vendor invoices, reimbursements and payments per approved procedures
• Prepare monthly financial reports and cash flow summaries
• Reconcile bank statements, petty cash and other accounts regularly
• Track organisational spend and support budget forecasting
• Organise financial documentation for audits and compliance checks, and support the annual audit
• Prepare financial reports for management and external stakeholders
• Handle statutory remittances (taxes and other regulatory filings)
• Coordinate with vendors, service providers and banks on payment matters
• Uphold internal financial controls and accounting standards

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline
• 2-3 years of experience in accounting, finance or an administrative-finance role
• Solid grasp of bookkeeping and core accounting principles
• ICAN, ACCA (or equivalent), completed or in progress, is an advantage

Required skills

• Comfort with Excel and the wider Microsoft Office suite
• Familiarity with accounting software is a plus
