Accountant – Real Estate Finance

About the role

We are seeking a diligent Accountant to join our real‑estate investment team in Lagos. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting project budgets, and ensuring compliance with Nigerian tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate ledgers, journals, and reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable for corporate and project‑level activities.
• Process payroll and statutory remittances (PAYE, Pension, NHF).
• Prepare and file VAT, WHT, and CIT returns; liaise with FIRS and state revenue authorities.
• Track project budgets, provide variance analysis, and monitor cash flow forecasts.
• Support financial documentation for partnerships and joint ventures.
• Maintain organized physical and digital filing systems.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and financial institutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years post‑qualification accounting experience.
• ICAN, ACCA membership or progress is an advantage.
• Experience in real‑estate, construction, or property development is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and reporting standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency with QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, financial models, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
• Ability to use AI tools such as ChatGPT or Copilot for workflow efficiency.
• Familiarity with Google Workspace, OneDrive, or SharePoint.
