Accountant

About the role

H-Ville Consultancy is hiring a full-time Accountant based in Lagos, Marina. The role covers day-to-day accounting, internal audit, reconciliation and financial reporting, supporting management decisions with accurate financial information.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and accounting documents.
• Prepare financial statements, reports and budgets.
• Conduct internal audits and examine documents to find discrepancies, errors and possible fraud.
• Monitor income, expenses and cash flow, and reconcile bank statements and company accounts regularly.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations and financial policies.
• Prepare and review invoices, receipts, payment vouchers and other financial documents.
• Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Identify financial risks and recommend improvements to internal controls.
• Assist with tax preparation and statutory reporting, and keep audit documentation.
• Provide management with accurate financial information and protect the confidentiality of financial data.

Required profile

• HND in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Proven experience in accounting and auditing; demonstrated ability to run audits and spot discrepancies.
• Knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and financial regulations.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and communicate well in writing and verbally.
• Must be able to commute to the workplace in Lagos.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
