Accountant

About the role

Chester Fries is hiring a full-time Accountant based in Abuja, Nigeria. The role covers accounting and financial management, cash and operations oversight, vendor management and team leadership within a hospitality setting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) and manage the accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and bank reconciliations.
• Develop and manage the weekly operating budget with other department heads.
• Implement internal controls across the supply chain to prevent theft and pilfering, and oversee inventory management, ordering and cost control.
• Conduct financial analysis, ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations and tax laws, and oversee external audits.
• Supervise cashier staff, manage the POS system (menu updates, pricing, technical issues) and reconcile daily sales and cash receipts.
• Negotiate with key vendors, manage supplier invoices and maintain inventory management systems.
• Lead and train the accounting and cashier teams, set expectations, give feedback and run performance reviews.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Minimum of a BSc degree.
