Accountant

About the role

The Accountant will join the finance team in Abuja and take ownership of the full accounts payable cycle and daily cash‑bank reconciliation through the CoralPay gateway. This position ensures accurate financial data, supports revenue assurance and works closely with the Chief Accountant.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, review and verify supplier invoices against purchase orders and goods received notes before posting them in the ERP system.
• Prepare weekly and monthly payment schedules, execute supplier payments via bank transfer and maintain supporting documentation.
• Reconcile supplier statements with company records and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Perform daily cash and bank reconciliation using CoralPay reports, investigate mismatches and prepare reconciliation reports.
• Create journal vouchers for all cash and bank movements with appropriate documentation.
• Provide daily settlement data to the Revenue Assurance Officer to identify collection gaps.
• Generate daily cash‑bank position reports for senior finance review.

Required profile

• Mid‑level accounting experience (minimum 3 years) in accounts payable and cash reconciliation.
• Proven ability to work with ERP systems and payment gateways.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Good understanding of tax documentation (WHT, VAT) and compliance.
