Accountant/Bookkeeper

About the role

We are looking for a diligent Accountant/Bookkeeper to join Udoba Tech Ventures in Abuja. The role involves managing day‑to‑day financial transactions, supporting month‑end reporting and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily transactions, including accounts payable, receivable and general ledger entries.
• Perform bank, vendor and customer reconciliations to maintain ledger accuracy.
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, balance sheets and P&L reports.
• Track, review and categorize company expenses, ensuring proper documentation and authorization.
• Support the preparation and filing of statutory remittances such as VAT, WHT, PAYE and corporate taxes.
• Organise financial documents, invoices and ledgers for internal and external audits.
• Learn and adapt to internal accounting workflows and enterprise software.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in an accounting or finance role (fresh graduates with strong academic records may be considered).
• Good understanding of GAAP/IFRS and fundamental accounting equations.
• Familiarity with double‑entry bookkeeping, trial balances and ledger maintenance.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, basic financial modelling).
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero or Zoho Books.
