Accountant - Finance Services and Control Technology

About the role

MTN Nigeria is recruiting an Accountant for its Finance Services and Control Technology unit in Ikoyi, Lagos. The role supports financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance monitoring within the Network Group, reporting to the Manager, Finance Services and Control Technology.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse operating expenditure budgets, financial forecasts and budget variance reports, and recommend actions
• Develop and update financial dashboards, KPI reports and management presentations
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and business planning aligned with strategic objectives
• Produce monthly, quarterly and annual reports on tower lease costs, including escalations and tenancy changes
• Review financial performance reports, identify cost drivers and assess forecast assumptions
• Monitor financial risks, identify savings and support cost optimisation across Network operations
• Work with Network, TowerCo, Procurement and Information Systems teams to improve reporting and data accuracy
• Carry out financial modelling, scenario analysis and business analytics
• Reconcile accounts within the assigned division

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
• Recognised professional accounting qualification such as ACA, CPA, ACCA or CIMA
• 3 to 7 years of relevant professional experience, including collaboration with other teams
• Experience in a medium-sized organisation and supporting the finance function of a leading organisation
• Experience using enterprise financial management systems, budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis and financial reporting
• Experience in the telecommunications industry is an advantage
• Fluent English
