Account Officer - Waybill (DCT)

About the role

Dangote Industries is hiring an Account Officer for its DCT unit in Okpella. The role manages, records, reconciles and monitors all financial transactions relating to waybills, ensuring that waybill collections, dispatch payments and related records are accurate, properly documented and accounted for.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, record and maintain accurate waybill financial records.
• Verify waybills so that transportation charges, customer details, destination and other information are correct.
• Record daily waybill transactions in the accounting system or appropriate records.
• Ensure all waybill-related income is captured and accounted for.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between waybills, receipts, collections and accounting records.
• Maintain proper filing of waybills, receipts, invoices and payment records.
• Work with the Operations and Dispatch teams to confirm completed deliveries.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• 2-5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a transport, logistics, courier or haulage company.
• Good knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial controls.
• Experience handling waybills, receipts, collections or transport-related financial records is an advantage.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
