About the role
Woodrow is seeking an entrepreneurial and independent communications consultant to join its early‑stage Nigeria team as an Account Director. Based in Lagos, you will help build Woodrow’s West Africa presence while delivering strategic communications work for major regional clients from day one.
Key responsibilities
- Lead day‑to‑day client relationships in Nigeria, acting as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders.
- Develop and execute communications strategies, messaging, media positioning, issues management and stakeholder engagement plans.
- Translate client business priorities into clear communications plans and high‑quality deliverables.
- Oversee commercial success, strategic direction and satisfaction of assigned accounts.
- Collaborate with colleagues in Nairobi, London and New York to leverage the global agency network.
- Support the growth of Woodrow’s West Africa practice, including workstreams in Kenya.
Required profile
- Minimum eight years of experience in communications, public relations or advertising.
- Proven ability to work independently and lead senior‑level client engagements.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of building or scaling agency capabilities.
- Strong commercial acumen and experience driving business growth.
- Excellent judgment in handling complex or sensitive client situations.
