Video Editor and Animator

About the role

ATAfrica is looking for a Video Editor and Animator to join its growing team and help create engaging visual content that captures its audience. The role sits within the design function and involves working with marketing and design teams to produce high-quality video and animation.

Key responsibilities

• Work with marketing and design teams to conceptualize and create high-quality video content.
• Edit and assemble recorded video footage, ensuring continuity and coherence.
• Develop and design animations that engage and inform the audience.
• Add effects, music, voice-overs and other post-production touches.
• Make sure all materials follow brand guidelines and are optimized for different platforms.
• Collaborate with colleagues on project requirements and timelines.
• Maintain an organized digital archive of all media.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in video editing and animation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 3+ years of professional experience in video editing and animation.
• Excellent visual and storytelling skills, with an eye for detail and design.
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.
• A portfolio showing relevant skills and creativity.

Required skills

• Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and Final Cut Pro.
• Strong animation skills, especially in 2D or 3D software such as Blender, Maya or Cinema 4D.
