U.S. Immigration Paralegal (Nigeria Support Office)

About the role

We are seeking intelligent, diligent individuals to serve as U.S. Immigration Paralegals in our Nigeria Support Office. The role involves detailed legal support for immigration cases, requiring excellent written English, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage large volumes of documents under strict deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyze legal, medical, financial, immigration, court, and employment documents, identifying inconsistencies and evidentiary gaps.
• Conduct structured client and witness interviews under attorney supervision, gathering comprehensive immigration histories and related information.
• Draft first‑person client declarations, affidavits, and witness statements while preserving the client’s voice.
• Assist in preparing immigration applications (VAWA, asylum, waivers, family‑based, adjustment of status, employment authorization) and related supporting materials.
• Prepare document‑request lists, evidence checklists, and organize case files according to firm standards.
• Track attorney, court, government, client, and internal deadlines using the firm’s case‑management system and provide status updates.
• Communicate professionally with clients, providing authorized case‑status updates and documenting all interactions.
• Proofread all work, verify key information, and ensure consistency with firm templates and filing standards.

Required profile

• BSc in any field; law degree not mandatory (must have completed NYSC and law school if applicable).
• 0–2 years of experience; entry‑level candidates welcome.
• Exceptional written and spoken English.
• Open to learning and able to work under strict deadlines.
