Team Lead, System Administrator

About the role

The Team Lead, System Administrator is a senior individual contributor who also leads the IT infrastructure team at Moniepoint. The role blends hands‑on delivery of complex systems work with tactical leadership, ensuring the team meets infrastructure targets and adopts AI‑driven automation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and coordinate a team of Systems Administrators, managing workload, priorities, and SLA compliance.
• Design, implement, and maintain robust on‑premise and cloud infrastructure, including Proxmox virtualization, Windows and Linux servers, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Deploy and manage cloud network environments across GCP, OCI, and Azure, handling VPCs, subnets, firewalls, BGP routing, and F5 load balancers.
• Develop and maintain automation workflows using n8n, Python, PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, and Terraform to reduce manual toil.
• Oversee telephony platform (xCALLY PBX), network security, DNS/DHCP, and unified communications.
• Implement security policies, endpoint protection, SSO/MFA, and lead incident response and root‑cause analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of systems administration, infrastructure, or network engineering experience.
• At least 2 years of team‑lead or supervisory experience.
• Relevant certifications (CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft, GCP/Azure/OCI, Linux) are desirable.

• Active Directory / Directory as a Service (e.g., JumpCloud)
• Linux/Unix administration (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian)
• Cloud networking on GCP, OCI, Azure (VPCs, load balancers, VPNs)
• TCP/IP, BGP routing, VLANs, enterprise switching
• F5 load balancers, virtual routers (vRTF), Cisco/Ubiquiti equipment
• Proxmox virtualization and data‑centre operations
• xCALLY PBX or equivalent unified communications platform
• Scripting in Python, PowerShell, Bash
• Infrastructure as Code with Ansible and Terraform
• Workflow automation with n8n or similar tools
• Monitoring with Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios
• Google Workspace administration
