About the role
The Tax Officer will safeguard Moniepoint’s financial integrity by ensuring accurate and timely tax compliance across all jurisdictions. You will translate complex tax legislation into practical processes that support our fast‑growing fintech operations.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual VAT, WHT, CIT and other statutory levy calculations with a “right‑first‑time” approach.
- Own end‑to‑end filing and remittance of federal and state tax obligations, meeting all deadlines.
- Reconcile tax ledgers regularly and maintain comprehensive documentation as the source of truth.
- Support tax audits and investigations by providing clear evidence and walkthroughs for authorities.
- Manage correspondence with regulatory bodies, ensuring transparent communication.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and assess impact on business operations.
- Provide tax guidance to Finance, Legal, HR and Operations teams, and assist the Head of Tax on M&A and expansion projects.
- Help design and automate tax controls, dashboards and reporting tools to reduce manual effort.
Required profile
- Minimum 3 years of experience in tax compliance or advisory; fintech or banking exposure is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax legislation and multi‑state filing requirements.
- Proficiency in data analysis using Excel or Google Sheets.
