System Administrator

About the role

A mid-level System Administrator is sought to support and maintain the IT infrastructure, keeping systems stable, performant and secure. The role covers day-to-day technical support for servers, networks and user access, across on-premise and cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain Linux and/or Windows servers, and manage updates, patches and routine maintenance
• Troubleshoot server, application and network issues so systems run efficiently and reliably
• Create and manage user accounts and permissions, enforce access control and support authentication and password management
• Monitor performance, availability and resource usage, respond to alerts and maintain system logs
• Manage regular backups, test their integrity and support data restoration and basic disaster recovery
• Support basic networking tasks such as DNS, DHCP, VPN and IP configuration, and troubleshoot connectivity issues
• Document configurations and changes, and collaborate with IT, DevOps and development teams

Required profile

• 3-5 years of experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Required skills

• Linux and/or Windows Server environments
• Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
• System monitoring tools and backup and recovery processes
• User management and access control; basic scripting (Bash, PowerShell or Python is a plus)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) is an advantage
• Nice to have: virtualization tools, Git, IT ticketing systems (Jira, ServiceNow)
