Solicitor – Corporate & Commercial Law (Hybrid, Abuja)

About the role

We are a leading Nigerian commercial law firm seeking an experienced Solicitor to join our Abuja office on a hybrid basis. The role focuses on non‑contentious, transactional and regulatory matters across a variety of sectors, providing legal and commercial support to corporate and institutional clients.

Key responsibilities

• Advise corporate and institutional clients on corporate and commercial legal matters.
• Structure, negotiate and execute commercial and corporate transactions, including drafting and reviewing agreements and corporate documents.
• Conduct legal research, due diligence and regulatory reviews, delivering commercially focused advice.
• Manage regulatory interfaces with government agencies and prepare legal opinions, memoranda and reports.
• Support corporate governance, company secretarial and compliance matters as required.
• Liaise with clients, counterparties, regulators and professional advisers, ensuring timely delivery of high‑quality work.

Required profile

• LL.B or equivalent law degree and called to the Nigerian Bar.
• 2–3 years post‑qualification experience in corporate and commercial transactions.
• Demonstrable experience with regulatory matters and regulatory interface.
• Strong legal drafting, contract review, legal research and commercial advisory skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple matters, meet deadlines and work independently while collaborating with senior lawyers.
