Senior Manager / Head – Learning & Development (L&D)

About the role

The organization seeks a proactive Senior Manager / Head of Learning & Development to lead its capability‑building agenda across Kenya, Nigeria or India. Reporting to the HR Head, you will design, implement and evaluate learning initiatives that boost employee performance, leadership capability and overall effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an annual L&D strategy aligned with business objectives, including competency‑based frameworks and development roadmaps.
• Plan, organize and manage end‑to‑end training programs, onboarding, workshops and blended learning solutions, measuring effectiveness and driving continuous improvement.
• Design leadership development and talent‑management programs, support succession planning and partner with business leaders to strengthen leadership capabilities.
• Oversee learning operations such as calendars, budgets, vendor management, policy creation and compliance monitoring.
• Drive digital learning adoption, introduce innovative methodologies and use analytics to track ROI and program impact.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development or related field; Master’s or MBA preferred.
• 10–15 years of HR experience with substantial L&D exposure, proven ability to design and implement programs independently.
• Experience working with senior business stakeholders, multinational or fast‑growing organizations, and supporting geographically dispersed teams.
• Professional certifications in Learning & Development, Coaching, Talent Management or Organizational Development are an advantage.
