Senior Database Administrator

About the role

Netchex is looking for a seasoned Senior Database Administrator to join its IT team. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining database solutions on Microsoft Azure, ensuring high performance, security, and availability for critical business applications.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the full lifecycle of development, staging, and production databases, including design, configuration, migration, and upgrades.
• Monitor and tune database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies.
• Develop and enforce processes to minimise outages and ensure high availability.
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to plan capacity and scalability.
• Work with QA to design and execute load‑testing procedures, validating performance under stress.
• Implement and maintain data security, governance, and disaster‑recovery policies.
• Lead and mentor a small team of data professionals.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Database Administrator, preferably in a senior or lead capacity.
• Strong background with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large, mission‑critical databases.
• Experience guiding and mentoring junior team members.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
