Senior Brand Storyteller – Fintech & Payments

About the role

Our client enables African businesses to receive payments from anywhere in the world. As a Senior Brand Storyteller you will shape and execute brand storytelling across product launches, campaigns, internal communications, merchant outreach, social media, video, events and PR.

Key responsibilities

• Write exceptional copy for launch announcements, feature articles, campaign lines, video scripts, newsletters, executive communications and website content.
• Develop messaging, narrative and creative angles for product launches, company announcements and internal initiatives.
• Lead storytelling projects end‑to‑end, collaborating with designers, producers, photographers, videographers, marketers and product teams.
• Review and provide feedback on writing, video, photography and design work to sharpen final output.
• Support ongoing communications such as merchant emails, lifecycle updates and dashboard announcements using marketing tools.
• Manage the editorial and organic content calendar, identifying storytelling opportunities for merchants, partners and the broader ecosystem.
• Partner with product, GTM, customer experience, legal, compliance, people and leadership teams to ensure clear, consistent communication.
• Assist PR efforts by developing messaging, reviewing press materials and preparing briefing notes.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience and an exceptional writing ability across long‑form articles, scripts, social posts and internal communications.
• Strong creative and brand strategist who can uncover ideas within briefs and build compelling narratives.
• Excellent editorial judgment and ability to quickly identify stories or messages that need improvement.
• Comfortable working as a senior individual contributor, balancing high‑level strategy with detailed execution.
• Proven experience leading complex creative or communications projects with multiple stakeholders.
