Senior Backend Engineer – Node.js & AWS (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with deep expertise in Node.js and AWS to join a high‑traffic platform on a contract basis. The role is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable, low‑latency services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy Node.js microservices using AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, and RDS.
• Optimize backend performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Develop secure RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Lead architectural decisions for cloud infrastructure, including CloudFormation and Terraform.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automated testing (unit, integration, end‑to‑end).
• Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of professional Node.js backend development experience.
• Strong hands‑on experience with AWS services (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudFormation).
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote, distributed team.
