Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to lead cost accounting and financial reporting for our manufacturing operations in Lagos. The role involves managing product costing, inventory valuation, budgeting, and supporting cross‑functional teams to drive cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate costing systems, monitor standard vs. actual costs, and analyze variances to support pricing decisions.
• Track and value raw materials, work‑in‑progress and finished goods, reconcile inventory records and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in preparing operational budgets and forecasts, monitor performance and identify cost overruns or savings.
• Prepare factory‑related financial reports, ensure compliance with internal controls and statutory regulations, and liaise with auditors.
• Collaborate with HR and production to record labor costs, analyze labor efficiency and its impact on production cost.
• Monitor capital investments, maintain fixed‑asset registers and depreciation schedules, and support cross‑functional cost‑efficiency initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Professional accounting certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is a strong advantage.
• 3‑5 years of experience in manufacturing or production accounting.
• Experience with cost accounting, ERP systems and inventory control.
