Senior Accountant

About the role

Quema Consulting Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to lead its accounting operations in Port Harcourt. The role involves overseeing daily financial activities, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting strategic financial planning within the energy and utilities sector.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
• Prepare, review, and analyse financial statements, reports, and supporting documentation.
• Develop, monitor, and manage budgets while supporting financial planning activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies.
• Reconcile accounts, monitor cash flow, and maintain the integrity of financial data.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic business decisions.
• Supervise, guide, and support accounting staff while performing other finance‑related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Extensive experience (at least 5 years) in accounting, financial reporting, and financial management.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, taxation, account reconciliation, and financial analysis.
• Professional accounting certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
• Excellent analytical, leadership, and problem‑solving abilities.
