Salon Operations Coordinator

About the role

A hands-on floor leader for a salon in Lagos, reporting to the Managing Director and overseeing 16-20 technical staff and office assistants. The role spends most of the day on the floor with no supervisory layer beneath it, owning team productivity, conduct, stock discipline, equipment uptime and shift coverage.

Key responsibilities

• Floor standards and quality: run daily opening and closing checklist audits, observe at least two client services each day to give immediate technical feedback, and reassign staff at midday to manage capacity.
• People and discipline: hold monthly 1-on-1s, enforce the conduct framework consistently, log breaches within 48 hours, run disciplinaries to written outcomes and send unfit staff home immediately.
• Rota and attendance: own the technical team rota, shift swaps and cover across all 7 trading days, and minimise lost capacity from lateness and absence.
• Productivity and equipment: drive chair and technician utilisation daily, work with the Client Service Lead on morning calendars so there are no service overruns, reconcile stock counts weekly and keep equipment operational.
• Reporting and escalations: submit weekly structured reports to the MD and escalate urgent issues using a four-point framework (what happened, impact, action taken, recommended decision).

Required profile

• 3+ years supervising a hands-on service floor (salon, spa, clinic, hospitality or retail) managing 10+ direct reports; a degree is not required.
• Direct experience leading 1-on-1s, managing poor performance and issuing formal written disciplinaries.
• Uncompromising on standards, fair and consistent to all staff, routine-driven, and brings recommendations rather than questions.

Required skills

• Tech-savvy and quick to use Timely, NotchHR and Excel/Sheets to track utilisation and stock variances.

What we offer

• Remuneration of NGN 300,000 - 500,000 per month.
