Risk Manager

About the role

The Risk Manager will develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive risk management framework that aligns with the Bank’s strategic objectives and regulatory requirements. This full‑time hybrid position is based in Lagos with some remote work possible.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework, risk register and risk culture across the Bank.
• Monitor credit portfolio quality, assess loan‑related risk indicators and conduct independent credit reviews.
• Identify operational risk exposures, conduct Risk and Control Self‑Assessments and ensure effective internal controls.
• Prepare periodic risk reports for management, board committees and regulators, tracking key risk indicators and escalating breaches.
• Ensure compliance with CBN regulations, support regulatory examinations and update risk policies.
• Coordinate business continuity activities, disaster recovery testing and information security risk assessments.
• Deliver risk awareness training and promote risk ownership throughout the organization.

Required profile

• 5‑8 years of experience in risk management, credit risk, internal control, audit or compliance, preferably in a digital banking environment.
• Strong understanding of digital loan products, CBN ratios, standards and reporting requirements.
• Relevant professional certification (e.g., CIBN MCP) or commitment to obtain within the first year.
• Proven experience with Microsoft Office, accounting tools and core banking solutions.
