Retail Sales Associate

About the role

NACK Apparel, a Nigerian fashion brand, is looking for a full-time, on-site Retail Sales Associate in Abuja. You will be the face of the brand to its customers, welcoming them, understanding their needs and helping them find the right pieces. The role is on-your-feet, involves moving stock, and follows a rota that includes weekends and public holidays, with days off during the week.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome and assist customers, identify their needs and recommend suitable products
• Provide accurate product information and answer customer questions
• Handle sales transactions, operate the point-of-sale (POS) system, process cash and electronic payments and issue receipts
• Handle basic customer concerns and returns, escalating complex issues to the right person
• Keep the store clean, organised and welcoming
• Restock shelves, update product displays and check inventory levels
• Work towards sales targets and prepare daily sales reports
• Work with colleagues to keep store operations running smoothly

Required profile

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, able to engage customers professionally and build good relationships
• Good organisation and time management, able to handle several customer requests at once
• Clear verbal communication and the ability to follow instructions and store policies consistently
• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, with basic numeracy and literacy
• Previous retail, sales or customer-facing experience is an advantage; willingness to learn and adapt is essential

Required skills

• Basic sales and retail skills, including product knowledge, upselling and cross-selling
• Cash handling and POS skills, with attention to accuracy in payments and records
